The Nar/Phu Valley Trekking presents an exhilarating journey through Nepal’s Annapurna region, blending captivating scenery, awe-inspiring views, and cultural experiences. Trekking through the isolated Nar and Phu valleys will bring you to the homes of Tibetan cultural ancestors who have managed to hold onto their long-standing traditions.

The trek shares an exceptional opportunity to explore the Annapurna region’s less-visited places seeking hidden jewels. The journey begins in the town of Besishahar and passes through verdant woodlands, untamed landscapes, and steep mountain passes.  Although it is a challenging trek that requires a good level of fitness and previous trekking experience, the rewards of this journey are well worth it.

Trekkers have the opportunity to behold magnificent Himalayan vistas and immerse themselves in the distinct culture of the nearby communities. In essence, the Nar/Phu Valley Trekking is a remarkable journey providing an unconventional experience in the breathtaking Annapurna region of Nepal.

 

Tour Itinerary

  • Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu

    Upon arrival, a representative from Mountain Leaders will receive you at the Airport and transfer to the hotel. Depending upon your arrival time, we will arrange for activities for the day. We will be staying in Kathmandu.

  • Day 2 Kathmandu City sightseeing

    After breakfast visit Pashupatinath, BoudhaNath, Swayambhunath and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Pashupatinath Temple: Pashupatinath Temple is one of the most important shrines of the Hindu followers. It is one of the biggest and most powerful Shiva’s temples. This place possess much more of cultural behaves and exchanges. The art and the architecture can be seen scattered around each and every corner of the Pashupatinath temple.

    Boudhanath: Boudhanath is one of the holiest Buddhist sites in Kathmandu and the largest one in Nepal. It is the center of Tibetan culture in Kathmandu and rich in Buddhist symbolism. The stupa is located in the town of Boudha, on the eastern outskirts of Kathmandu.
    After the sightseeing of Boudhanath we will drive further ahead till Sankhu and start the hike. The hike passes through beautiful villages and forests with excellent views of the mountains on the background. The hike is usually 3-4 hours walk depending upon the person’s walking skills. Swayambhunath: Swayambhunath is one of the most important sites for the Buddhist followers. It is also one of the oldest temples in Nepal. It is the symbol of peace and eternity all around the globe. It is situated at a hilltop from where whole Kathmandu city can be observed. It is not only important for religion but also for art and culture. Being habitat for monkeys around the jungle it is also called "Monkey Temple".

    Kathmandu Durbar Square: Kathmandu Durbar square reflects the palaces and the livelihood of kings of that era when Nepal was just coming into existence. This was the place where the foundation of modern Nepal is formed. This place used to be and still is the center heart of Kathmandu. It’s filled with palaces astounding monuments, perfect handicrafts and art, the home of living goddess (Kumari) called Kumari Gahr, biggest example of a pagoda style monument. Overnight at Hotel.

  • Day 3 Kathmandu to Besisahar ( 820 m) and Khudi

    After breakfast, we start our journey through the roads of Trishuli river and after 3 hours drive we will reach Mugling. We will then headed towards Besisahar and half hours drive from Besisahar takes us to Khudi- the starting point of trek. We will be staying at Lodge.

  • Day 4 Besisahar to Bahundanda( 1300 m)

    Our first day trek starts from Khudi which involves a few suspension bridges, waterfalls and subtropical forest. On the way to bahundanda you can see the Tamang village Taranche. We will be staying at Bahundanda.

  • Day 5 Bahundanda to Jagat ( 1290 m)

    Today we will descend from Bahundanda through rice terraces and small waterfall. We follow the winding mountain path down through syange and along the river . The trail climbs steeply and proceed to the stone village of Jagat.We will be staying at Jagat.

  • Day 6 Jagat to Dharapani ( 1920 m)

    Early morning, after breakfast we will descend to Dharapani through a forest. We will then climb to Chamje and continue to a grassy riverbank which leads to Tal .we will then cross a suspension bridge and climb to the Dharapani. We will be staying at Dharapani.

  • Day 7 Dharapani to Nar Phu Valley first camp (2740 m)

    We will cross through the Dudh Khola and reach Bagarchaap which is a Bhote village. We will continue to climb through forests of pine and oak, we pass through Dhanakyu before coming to a thundering waterfall. We will pass through rhododendron and continue through a pine forest .We then cut across a loose hillside to the hamlet of Koto from where we can look straight up at nearby Annapurna II – a sight convincing us that we are deep in the Himalayan mountains.we will leave the Annapurna Circuit, we cross the Marsyangdi river and enter the Nar Phu valley. We will be staying at lodge.

  • Day 8 Nar Phu Valley- Sinhenge Dharamsala( 3230 m)

    We will step towards Sinhenge dharmasala through small jungle and then we will walk a short steep ascent to Choto. We will then cross suspension bridge. From here we reached Sinhenge dharamsala by crossing bid waterfalls. We will be staying at Dharmasalas.

  • Day 9 SinghengeDharmasalas-Upper Chaku Village( 3720 m)

    Today we headed towards Upper Chaku village. We will climb on a winding path to the Methang pastures. On the way we can observe an ancient Chorten and beautiful views of kang Guru. The next village is Junan . From here, we will walk to Lower Chaku village. We will be staying at Village.

  • Day 10 Upper Chaku Village to Phu Village( 3980 m)

    On this day, we will start our day with a hard steep ascent to the abandoned Kyan village Vhaku, where there is a nice long mani wall. We will continue on an tunnel and pass some Mani chortens. We will then enter to the phu valley and after an hour we cross the Phu khola and begin to climb up to the village.

  • Day 11 Rest in Phu Village

    Today we take rest in Phu village.

  • Day 12 Phu Village to Nar Campsite ( 3550 m)

    Today we will pass Chaku and cross Phu khola at Nar phedi. From here we will climb to nice grassy campsite.

  • Day 13 Nar Campsite to Kang La Phedi( 4530 m)

    After breakfast, we will climb to Nar village the we continue on a long but gentle ascent through Temdenzon Khola on a nice path. We will then reach Kang La Phedi.

  • Day 14 Kang la Phedi- Munje( 3330m) via Kang la pass

    We will trek to Munje via kang La pass. You will observe great views of the Annapurna. The trail goes to a grassy path which leads to Ngawal.Finally we will reach Munje . We will be staying in Munje.

  • Day 15 Munje to Manang( 3540 m)

    Today we will trek to Manang . You can see the village of Braga where you can also see the monastery. You can also observe tall peaks like Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV, Gangapurna and Tilicho peak. Finally we reach Manang. We will be staying at Manang.

  • Day 16 Manang to Letdar (4250 m)

    Today we will proceed to the another village of Tengi where you can see the view of Himalayas .we will then climb the village of Gunsang and then from here we cross Gundon Khola via a wooden bridge. Finally we will reach Letdar. We will be staying at Letdar.

  • Day 17 Letdar to Thorung Phedi ( 4500 m)

    We gradually climb to a ridge before descending to the Marsyangdi and we cross a covered wooden bridge. We then descend to Thorung phedi. Overnight stay in Thorung phedi.

  • Day 18 Thorung Phedi to Muktinath( 3800 m)

    Today we will cross the ThorongLa .we will reach Muktinath .Upon setting sun we will be at Muktinath – an important pilgrimage site for both hindus and Buddhist. We will be staying at Muktinath.

  • Day 19 Muktinath to Jomsom

    Early morning, after breakfast we will headed towards Jomsom through Kali Gandaki River. Overnight stay in Jomsom.

  • Day 20 Jomsom - Pokhara

    After breakfast, we will headed towards Pokhara. The rest of the day is free so you can visit famous lake sides of Pokhara in the evening. We will be staying at Pokhara.

  • Day 21 Pokhara- Kathmandu

    Early morning after breakfast, we will drive back to Kathmandu. The rest of the day is free so you have enough time for shopping. We will be staying at Kathmandu.

  • Day 22 Departure from Kathmandu

    A representative from Mountain Leaders will receive you from the hotel and transfer you to the Airport for your final departure.
