The tranquillity and pure beauty of nature can be experienced at Annapurna Sanctuary, the ideal retreat. A location where a regular person can encounter the thrilling Annapurna Mountain Ranges is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The Annapurna Base Camp Trek is well-known for its route that takes hikers to the base camp, from whence climbers can reach Mount Annapurna (8091m). The Annapurna Mountains, particularly Mt. Machhapuchhre (6993m), commonly known as Fishtail Mountain, are absolutely breathtaking to observe.

Tour Itinerary

  • Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon arrival, a representative from Mountain Leaders will receive you at the Airport and transfer to the hotel. Depending upon your arrival time, we will arrange for activities for the day. In the evening, you will enjoy the welcome dinner alongside a lovely cultural performance program. We will be staying at Kathmandu

  • Day 2 Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara

You will be heading to Pokhara by private transport which will take around 5-6 hours (200km) if we drive. We will be following the Prithvi highway alongside the Trisuli River. One can observe scenic views during the drive including the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. The lunch spot will be on the way to Pokhara.
Pokhara is one of the most beautiful cities in the whole nation. In the lap of the Annapurna Himalayas and the iconic Machhapuchhre (Mt. Fishtail), which reflects upon the water of the infamous Phewa Lake, this city truly exists to provide an awesome and lifetime experience. You will be staying in Pokhara and preparing ourselves for the trek that starts tomorrow.

  • Day 3 Drive to Nayapul (1070 m) trek to Tikhedhunga (1540 m)

You will have an early morning drive to Nayapul from where our trekking starts, it will take around 1-1.5 hours to get there (42km). The trek from here to Tikhedhunga takes about 4-5 hours. Along the trail, you will pass villages like Birethanti and Hile. You can observe the natural beauties along with the very authentic cultural lifestyle of the people in that place. The trail is shared by the pony caravans which are the primary way of transporting goods and materials to the higher places. You will be staying at Tikhedhunga at Teahouse Lodge.

  • Day 4 Trek to Ghorepani (2860 m)

After breakfast, you will drive to Nayapul from where our trek starts which will take approximately 1- 1.5 hours. From here you will trek to Tikhedhunga villages of Birethanti and Hile. You also can observe the lifestyle and unique culture of local people. After around 4-5 hours finally, you will reach Tikhedhunga where you will be staying overnight.

  • Day 5 Early morning at 5 AM trek to Poonhill (3210 m) for sunrise view and back to Hotel. After breakfast trek to Tadapani (2630 m):

The sunrise seen from Poonhill is breathtaking so we hike up to the top (3210m) around 1.5 hours early in the morning to observe the sunrise. On a clear day one can observe mountains like Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. The high mountains come so close that you feel like you can touch them with your own hands. The sunrise is also very spectacular and mesmerizing. The Mount Fishtail along with other mountains shines and sparkles as the sunlight rays hits it. After viewing the sunrise we hike back to Ghorepani for breakfast and get ready for our next destination i.e. Tadapani. Tadapani (2630m) is the main stopping point for trekkers between Ghorepani and Chhomrung. The trek starts with a short climb till Deurali. The trial passes through pine forest with occasional view of Ann apurna South. The trial will then lower down till we reach Banthati and then to Ghorepani. This takes around 5 hours to reach Tadapani. We will stay at a teahouse lodge in Tadapani.

  • Day 6 Trek to Chhomrung (2170 m)

After breakfast we leave Tadapani to reach Chhomrung, the trail descends and meets up to Tibuje Khola crossing both Chuile and Siprong pass. We will reach Chhomrung after walking for about 5-6 hours. We will be staying at a teahouse lodge in Chhomrung.

  • Day 7 Trek to Himalaya (2920)

We start our trek a bit early this day as we have a long distance to travel. It usually takes around 6-7 hours to reach Himalaya. The trial offers beautiful views of the Annapurna Sanctuary. The trial passes through a long suspension bridge and goes through dense bamboo, pine, and oak and rhododendron forest dotted with ferns. The trial is a bit harder as compared to previous walk as it is further steeper. But you will have no difficulties if you walk in your own speed and enjoy the views of Mt. Fishtail. We will be staying at teahouse lodge in Himalaya.

  • Day 8 Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4130 m)

It takes around 6-7 hours to get to Annapurna Base Camp passing via Machhapuchhre base Camp. You will be definitely amazed by the views seen in this trial. The Machhapuchhre seems so close. Walking up the bed of the glacier is safe and quite easy and the British Expedition Base Camp is reached after another 1 and ½ a hr. Base Camp is at 4, 237 m. The trip is best done from the lower camp, carrying only lunch, and the best views are probably obtained from to the north. We will be staying at Annapurna Base Camp at Teahouse Lodge or Tented Camp.

  • Day 9 Trek to Bamboo (2310 m)

Today, we return to Bamboo following the same trail back. Our trail drops by 1700m to the bank of Modi Khola to Bamboo at 2345m. You can find few teahouses/lodges available to stay at Bamboo. We will be staying at Bambo.
