Gali means hill top or Pass in the local dialect. Walk through the dense forests of the Galliyat. Move away from civilization and experience the wonders of the great outdoors. On a clear day there are magnificent views of the snow covered Pir Panjal Range in Indian held Kashmir, and of Nanga Parbat, far to the northeast. One of the advantages of the Galis is that they are within two hours drive from Islamabad. Itinerary DAY 01:-Arrive Islamabad Transfer to hotel for fresh ups. Later drive to visit Taxila, former center of Gandhara Buddhist civilization. The splendid site museum and archeological site of former cities & monasteries provide an impressive insight to this civilization. Afternoon drive back to the Twin Cities Rawalpindi & Islamabad. Evening free for bazaars. Overnight at hotel. DAY 02: -Drive to Thandiani Board Air Conditioned vans for drive to trek head, Thandiani. Short stay en route in Abbotabad. Arrive Thandiani, the third highest point in Galliat area, is located at 8832 feet above sea level. It is a unique place with beautiful views. Overnight camping in Thandiani near forest rest house. DAY 03: -Trek to Biran Gali Our first day on trek. As Biran Gali is on lesser altitude than Thandiani so mostly our trek today is descending. After 5 to 6 hours walk we will arrive at Biran Gali 6300 feet. Here we will camp near forest rest house. Like all the Galliat area Biran Glai is also surrounded by thick forest of conifer trees like blue pine and Diar. Camp fire in the evening. DAY 04:-Trek to Dagri Bungalow Today we will gain height so the trek today is bit harder than yesterday. But as we all will be well acclimatized, so we will not feel any difficulty. Dagri Bungalow is also a forest rest house at 9000 feet. Here we will also camp in the surroundings of Dagri rest house and from here we will have clear views of Miran jani peak (9970 feet), the highest peak in Galiyat area. DAY 05: -Trek to Lalazar Today we will cross the highest point in Galiyat area the Miran Jani top. After crossing the top we will descend down and arrive Nathiagali. From Nathiaglai it is further half an hours walk to the Lalazar camping site. Lalazar camping site is the most beautiful camping site in this trip and known as the Fairy Meadows. Here at Lalazar we have two options for short excursions. We can go down to the Nathiagali bazaar or we can walk upto the Mushkpuri top which is the second highest top in Galiyat area after Miran Jani. Overnight camp at Lalazar. DAY 06:-Lalazar to Islamabad Today our camping and trekking is over. From Lalazar we will walk down to Nathiagali. Transfer in to Air Conditioned van for drive to Islamabad. Arrive Islamabad for half day city tour of Rawalpindi & Islamabad. Visit Lok Virsa museum, Shakar Parian and Damn-e-Koh the view points of Islamabad. In Rawalpindi visit Raja bazaar, an interesting place to visit. Overnight stay in hotel. DAY 07:-Fly home Transfer to airport for your departure flight. Send An Inquiry |
