Description

 

Muktinath is of religious importance to both Hindus and Buddhist. The main shrine of Muktinath is a pagoda-shaped temple dedicated to the Lord Vishnu. In the walls around the temple are 108 waterspouts. The Jwala Mai Temple near has a spring and eternal flame, fed by natural gas. It is believed that one should visit this temple after completing a pilgrimage of four special religious sites in India. The serenity of the place really soothes your bird and beckons you into a spiritualistic journey. You will enjoy panoramic views all around. The famous temple of Lord Muktinath lies in the district of Mustang and is situated about 18 km northeast of Jomsom, at an altitude of 3710 m. It is believed that all your miseries will be relieved once you visit this temple (Mukti means 'Nirvana' or 'status of liberty' and Nath means 'God').

Muktinath Air Pilgrimage - 4 days

 

 

Day 1: Kathmandu sightseeing. We will visit Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath and Soyambhunath. Afternoon we will visit Manakamana and Darshan, then drive to Pokhara.

 

Day 2: Morning flight to Muktinath by helicopter. After sightseeing in Muktinath, back to Pokhara. Free time in afternoon.


Day 3: After breakfast, half-day sightseeing tour in Pokhara. In afternoon, one hour boat ride on Phewa Lake.


Day 4: Drive from Pokhara back to Kathmandu.

Muktinath Horse Pilgrimage - 6 days


Day 1: Kathmandu sightseeing. We will visit Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath and Soyambhunath. Nepalese cultural program in the evening. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.


Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. Overnight stay in Pokhara.


Day 3: Morning flight to Jomsom. Horse ride to Muktinath. Overnight stay in Muktinath.


Day 4: Sightseeing day in Muktinath. Horse ride from Muktinath to Jomsom. Overnight stay in Jomsom.


Day 5: Morning flight to Pokhara. Half-day sightseeing tour in Pokhara and one hour boat ride on Phewa Lake. Overnight stay in Pokhara.


Day 6: Drive back from Pokhara to Kathmandu.

Muktinath Walk Pilgrimage - 12 days

 

 

Day 1: Travel from Kathmandu to Pokhara by land (this will take 6 to 7 hours) or flight (this will take 30 minutes). Today we prepare for the trekking.

 

Day 2: Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul (1070 m) by bus. This drive will take 1 to 2 hours. Then trek from Nayapul to Tikhedhunga (1540 m). This walk will take 3 to 4 hours. Overnight stay in Tikhedunga.


Day 3: Trek from Tikhedhunga (1540 m) to Ghorepani (2750 m). This walk will take 5 to 6 hours. Overnight stay in Ghorepani.

Day 4: Early morning excursion to Poon Hill (3193 m) for a very special sunset-view on the mountains.
After breakfast trek to Tadapani (2590 m). This walk will take 6 to 7 hours. Overnight stay in Tadapani.


Day 5: Trek from Tatopani (1190 m) to Ghasa (2010 m). Overnight stay in Ghasa.

Day 6: Trek from Ghasa (2010 m) to Tukuche (2590 m). Overnight stay in Tukuche.

Day 7: Trek from Tukuche (2590 m) to Jomsom (2710 m). Overnight stay in Jomsom.

Day 8: Trek from Jomsom (2710 m) to Kagbeni (2800m). Overnight stay in Kagbeni.

Day 9: Trek from Kagbeni (2800 m) to Muktinath (3800 m). Overnight stay in Muktinath.

Day 10: Trek from Muktinath (3800 m) to Jomsom (2710 m). Overnight stay in Jomsom.

Day 11: Travel from Jomsom (2710 m) to Pokhara by drive or flight.

Day 12: Travel back from Pokhara to Kathmandu by drive or flight.
