Naya Khamga peak, also known as Ganja La Chuli, is a popular trekking peak in Nepal, situated in the Langtang region. Naya Khamga is an attractive peak rising to the west of the Ganja La (5122 m). Easy access to the region and availability of several snow peaks scattered around for acclimatization, make this region an ideal destination for mountaineers. Crossing the Langtang khola below Kyangjin, we climb steeply along the ridge through a forest of rhododendron and juniper. Finally climbing more gently, we arrive at the yak pastures of Ngegang at about 4000 m. We continue following the trail to Ganja La through moraine climbing steeply. We leave the Ganja La trail by climbing up to reach the eastern end of the glacier shelf beneath the north-east face of Naya Khamga. In this place, we will create the base camp ourself. We cross the glacier shelf to the foot of a shallow couloirs heading to the north ridge. We climb the couloirs to the notch and the base of the ridge. Then we turn to the ice nose on the left which is only the technical section on the climb. The climb near the summit should be done carefully.

Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche (1966 m). Overnight stay in Dunche.

Day 2: Trek from Dunche (1966 m) to Thulo Syabru (1860 m). Overnight stay in Thulo Syabru.

Day 3: Trek from Thulo Syabru (1860 m) to Lama Hotel (2380 m). Overnight stay in Lama Hotel.

Day 4: Trek from Lama Hotel (2380 m) to Lang Tang (3541 m). Overnight stay in Lang Tang.

Day 5: Trek from Lang Tang (3541 m) to Kyangjin Gomba (3800 m). Overnight stay in Kyangjin Gomba.

Day 6: Day of rest in Kyangjin Gomba. Overnight stay in Kyangjin Gomba.

Day 7: Trek from Kyangjin Gomba (3800 m) to Ngegang (4300 m). Overnight stay in Ngegang.

Day 8: Trek from Ngegang (4300 m) to Naya Khamga Base Camp (4900 m). Overnight stay in Naya Khamga Base Camp.

Day 9: Trek from Naya Khamga Base Camp (4900 m) to summit Naya Khamga (5844 m). Trek to Naya Khamga Base Camp. Overnight stay in Naya Khamga Base Camp.

Day 10: Trek from Naya Khamga Base Camp (4900 m) to Ngegang (4350 m). Overnight stay in Ngegang.

Day 11: Trek from Ngegang (4350 m) to Dukpu (4023 m). Overnight stay in Dukpu.

Day 12: Trek from Dukpu (4023 m) to Tarky-Gyang (2560 m). Overnight stay in Tarky-Gyang.

Day 13: Trek from Tarky-Gyang (2560 m) to Sharmathang (2621 m). Overnight stay in Sharmathang.

Day 14: Trek from Sharmathang (2621 m) to Melamchi Pul Bazaar (846 m). Then drive back to Kathmandu.
