  Dolpa Festival from 08 September 2008  
 

Locals of Dolpa districts are gearing up to celebrate the first ever Dolpa Festival in the district from September 8 to 12, 2008 . The festival is being organized in a bid to promote tourism in the western Himalayan district of the country.

Organisers said that preparations were underway to celebrate the five-day festival to be organized in district headquarters Dunai. Laliman Budha, convenor of the festival organizing committee, said the festival will feature awareness programmes about local tourism spots, different sports tournaments, a procession of indigenous groups living in the district, cultural shows and other activities to promote local tourism.

The festival is expected to be participated by people of Dolpa and other neighbouring districts of the Karnali zone as well as the Dolpalis residing in Kathmandu and other parts of the country.

 
     
     
  Nepal Airlines Corporation resumes Kathmandu-Delhi flight  
 

NAC resumes Delhi flight Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has resumed its daily flights to New Delhi from August 1. NAC had reduced its flights in the Delhi sector because of the lack of aircraft.

Raju K.C, commercial director at NAC, said that NAC also had plans of increasing flights to Qatar to three times a week. "May be we will start additional flights to Qatar from August 16," KC added.

NAC has also introduced new fares for the Delhi sector. The one way ticket has been priced at Rs 4,000 while the two way fare has been fixed at Rs 7,600.

 
     
     
  Tourist booking to its high this season  
 

The Airlines operating in and from Nepal are planning to add more flights as all tickets have been sold for two months in Advance.

Also in the hotel sector, almost 80% of the rooms has been booked and this increase is accepted to rise in further days to come.

After an end to a decade long unrest now Nepal has become a top destination for holiday makes and nature lovers and how can we forget the adventure lovers.   TAAN to support flood victims of Koshi River  
 
Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN) has launched a special fund-raising campaign to support the Saptakoshi flood affected people of Eastern Nepal .

The campaign, launched with the slogan of ‘Share Sorrows', aims to collect donations from tourism entrepreneurs and hand it over to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund to support the flood victims.

Meanwhile, TAAN organized a campaign from Sanchaya Kosh at 3 pm on August 21, collecting donations from tourism entrepreneurs, foreign visitors and passersby. Members of present executive committee, past presidents, general members, TAAN staffers and tourism entrepreneurs took part in the donation campaign.

TAAN has also requested its member agents to support the flood victims by making donations to the fund constituted by TAAN
 
     
     
  Village Tourism Day to be celebrated  
 
Village Tourism Promotion Forum Nepal (VTPFN) is marking Village Tourism Day-2008 by organizing various programmes. Every year, July 31 is celebrated as Village Tourism Day.

Coinciding with Village Tourism Day, VTPFN is felicitating 12 individuals contributing in the development of village tourism in Nepal on July 31. Organisers are hopeful that the celebration of Village Tourism Day will help promote art, culture, tradition and lifestyle of our villages.

The concept of village tourism was first developed in African nation Senegal in1976
