 Mount Kailash is a great adventure in history, in landscape and in the faiths of Asia . In the heart of the highest mountains on earth, Mount Kailash rises to an altitude of 6,714 meters, and is one of the most elegant and entrancing peaks in Tibet . For the traveler, this is a dream destination, almost inaccessible until just a few decades ago because of bad roads, political prohibitions, and the presence of bandits. But no Westerner has ever felt lonely in the area around it. In Sanskrit it is called " Mount Meru " or "Sumeru", in Hindu "Kailash" or the "Crystal Shining" & in Tibet it is called “Gang Ringpoche” or the “jewel of snow”. It is a mountain sacred to Hindus, Buddhists, Jains and Bongos, the adherents of ancient animistic beliefs. Traditional Buddhist cosmology has often connected Kailash with Mount Meru , the great mythological mountain that forms the axis of this world system.
Sacred Lake Manasarovar (4588m) is located in Western Tibet between Mt. Kailash (6714 m) and the Gurla Mandhata Range (Memo Nani, 7694m). For Hindus, it floats beneath the shadow of holy Kailash and was created to show the omnipotence of Brahma's mind (manas). Tibetans know it as Maphan Tso, ‘the Unconquerable Lake'. For many, this is holiest lake in Asia. "When the earth of Manasarovar touches anyone's body or when anyone bathes therein, he shall go to the paradise of Brahma, and he who drinks its water shall go to the heaven of Shiva and shall be released from the sins of 100 births. Even the beast that bears the name of Manasarovar shall go to the paradise of Brahma. Its water is like pearls". The ideal time to circle Manasarovar is in late autumn and early spring when the streams and rivers flowing into the lake are low. Some Tibetans prefer to circumambulate the lake in winter when everything is frozen. It is then possible to walk very near to the shoreline.

Day 04: Drive along the Tibetan highlands Paryang (4750m). Guest House.
Day 05: Drive towards western Tibet to Hor Quo (4560m) situated near the banks of the great Manasarovar Lake. Camp
Day 06: AM Lake Mansarovar Parikarma by Jeep. Time permitting visit Chui Gompa. PM Drive to Darchen (4560m). Guest House in Darchen.
Day 07: Rest at Darchen for acclimatization.
Day 08: Drive approx 8 Kms from Darchen to Tarboche, the trek starting point of Kailash Parikarma. Trek to Dira Puk (4775m). Camp
Day 09: Continue Parikarma trek over Dolma La Pass (5650m) to Zuthul Puk cave temple (4700m). Camp
Day 10: The Kailash Kora ends today near Darchen. Drive to Hor Qu (4560m) by Lake Mansarovar. Camp.
Day 11: Return drive to Paryang (4750m). Guest House.
Day 12: Drive to Saga (4600m). Guest House.
Day 13: Drive to Nyalam (3750m). Guest House.
Day 14: Drive downhill to the Friendship Bridge at the Nepal-Tibet border where transportation awaits for the final leg of journey to Kathmandu. End of Nepal to Mt. Kailash tour.

Option III
This extraordinary journey takes you through the hidden Humla valley in Nepal 's western most frontiers and to Tibet 's holy Mount Kailash and mythical Lake Manasarovar . We begin it by taking the flight to Simikot in Nepal 's remote Humla District. From here our trek follows the ancient salt trading and pilgrimage route towards the Nara Langa pass and to the border trade post at Taklakot. We drive overland north past Gurla Mandata mountain to the shores of Lake Manasarovar and RakasTal Lake and on to Darchen situated at the foot of Mt. Kailash. This holy mountain is revered by Hindus, Buddhist, Jains and Bonpos as the center of the universe. Once there, we will make the 'kora' (holy-walk) trek of the mountain sharing the trail with other pilgrims that head for Kailash during the summer months. After completing this trek we will drive eastwards by jeeps along the mighty Yarlung Zangpo river and through the vastness of the Tibet Plateau. Enjoy fantastic mountain views of the Himalayas as we journey south towards the border town of Zangmu to re-enter Nepal at the Friendship Bridge . This exclusive journey is made for travelers in search of a cultural and spiritual odyssey amidst the splendor of the Himalayan mountain range.
