Mt. Kailash & Lake Manasarovar Pilgrimage

Description

Mt. Kailash is a great adventure in history, in landscape and in the faiths of Asia. In the heart of the highest mountains on earth, Mount Kailash rises to an altitude of 6714 m and is one of the most elegant and entrancing peaks in Tibet. The mountain is sacred to Hindus, Buddhists, Jains and Bongos. The sacred lake Manasarovar is located in west of Tibet, between Mt. Kailash and the Gurla Mandhata Range. For Hindus, the lake floats beneath the shadow of the holy Mt. Kailash and was created to show the omnipotence of Lord Brahma's mind. For many, this is the holiest lake in Asia. It is believed that when the earth of Lake Manasarovar touches anyone's body or when anyone bathes in the water, he shall go to the paradise of Lord Brahma. He who drinks its water, shall go to the heaven of Lord Shiva and shall be released from the sins of 100 births. The ideal time to circle around Lake Manasarovar is in late autumn and early spring, when the streams and rivers flowing into the lake are low.
