Description

 

The Gurung heritage trail provides a first-hand experience of Gurung life style and culture. The trail starts from Khudi to Ghalegaon and Ghanpokhara. The trail then passes through other Gurung villages, Bhujung, Pasgaun, Pakhrikot and Nangidhar, finally ending in Pokhara. One can see wonderful views of the Annapurna range on the route. The local communities in these villages perform cultural shows for visitors on request. There is a hill with the remains of a 200 year old Gurung settlements and a beautiful lake that can be reached after a short hike from Nangidhar.

Gurung Heritage Trail - 6 days


Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Khudi. This drive will take 7 to 8 hours. Overnight stay in Khudi.

Day 2: Trek from Khudi (790 m) to Ghalegaon (2095 m). This walk will take 4 to 5 hours. Overnight stay in Ghalegaon.

Day 3: Trek from Ghalegaon (2095 m) to Bhujung (1690 m). This walk will take 2 to 3 hours. Overnight stay in Bhujung.

Day 4: Trek from Bhujung (1690 m) to Pasgaun (1636 m). This walk will take 5 to 6 hours. Overnight stay in Pasgaun.

Day 5: Trek from Pasgaun (1636 m) to Pakhrikot (1305 m). This walk will take 5 to 6 hours. Overnight stay in Pakhrikot.

Day 6: Trek from Pakhrikot to the main highway. This walk will take 3 to 4 hours. Then drive to Pokhara (820 m).
