Hiking In Nepal
   

Hiking is a form of walking with a purpose of exploring and enjoying the scenery and natural wilderness. Hiking takes place on trails in rural or wilderness areas and it is considered shorter than a trekking. The hills of Nepal are popular for hiking. Hiking provides you with spectacular views of the mountains and the deep valleys, as well as a chance to become acquainted with the Nepali people's lifestyle, their art, architecture and cultural traditions. Hiking in Nepal is popular among those travelers who want to do trekking but do not have sufficient time. A typical hiking has duration of 4-8 days. You just drive to a start point of a trail and begin the hiking. It is generally 3 to 6 hours hiking through villages and wooded forest and stay in a modern hotel or resort. No need to hire a porter just has a guide for companion. Your belongings will be taken to your destination by car. You just need small back pack to carry mineral water, your valuables, and lunch packet, etc. You will experience all the properties of a trekking in a hiking too. In other words a day hike along the ridges on Kathmandu valley's rim will also give you an idea of what trekking in Nepal is all about. There are several trails around popular destinations in Nepal to select for your hiking.

For hiking in Nepal Nagarkot, Dhulikhel, Chisapani, Daman , Bandipur, Sarangkot, Dhampus, etc. are very popular destinations in and around Kathmandu valley and Pokhara valley. The popular hiking routes are given below:

 
   
On the northeastern rim of the Kathmandu valley, at an elevation of 2175 m,Nagarkot is a widely enjoyed hill resort. It has been a weekend spot for mountain viewers in quiet and comfort. Nagarkot is popular for mountain vistas especially at sunrise and sunset.
 
   
Situated at an elevation of 6,500 feet above the sea-level and 25 kilometers away from Katmandu City rest hilly Kakani, famous for plenty of terraced fields. Short treks are made possible from Kakani.
 
   
Dhulikhel (1440m) is a small town with a long history. The artistic skill and urban ethos of its Newar inhabitants have created a place of charm and beauty. Streets lined with bare-brick houses, carved wooden windows, sloping title roofs, pagoda temples and sacred statues everywhere.
 
   
Daman is situated 80 kilometers south- west of Kathmandu at an altitude of about 2400 meters located on the Tribhuvan Highway (Raj path) in between Kathmandu and the town to Birgunj. For the view of the Breath taking view and magnificence of the world's highest peak Mt. Everest than there is no better place than Daman .
 
   
Namo Buddha means 'Greetings to the Buddha'. It is the symbol of human sacrifice at the highest possible level. You can drive up to Dhullikhel or Panauti from Kathmandu then hike up to Namo Buddha. It is situated on a hill above Panauti.
