Day 1: Arrival Kathmandu, transfer hotel breefing program and excursion with private transport to Swayambunath( monkey temple) Pashupatinath where you can be a witness of the ceremony of cremation of the Hindu at the holy Bagmati River to the biggest Buddhist Stupa Bouddhanath. Day 2; We visit the medieval king villages of Patan and Bhaktapur, Patan is sprinkled with thousand gold – gilded roofs and we visit the ancient palaces, temples and sanctuaries. In Bhaktapur the “Golden Gate” is the main entrance to the courtyard of the “Palace of 55 windows”. This is one of the most beautiful and richest decorated architectures of the world. The five-stored pagoda temple is built in 1702 and stands a top a five terrace platform. Bhaktapur also is known as the city of farmers and potteries. Overnight hotel Kathmandu.
Day 3: Flight to Biratnagar and drive further to Siliguri. Overnight Hotel.

Day 4: Along the way to Darjeeling, we pass several tea-estates. Near Ghoom we take the famous ‘Toy Train” , an experience on itself. This railway was built to increase the high transport-cost for rice and tea. The construction has started in 1879 and has been completed in 1881 and is an integenious masterpiece. The traintrail makes four complete loops and five swiftbacks. The biggest thrill is Bastasia Loop by the last decent to Darjeeling. Hotel Overnight in Darjeeling.

Day 5/6: Darjeeling, preched at a height of 2134 m is the most important and organized hill – resort in eastern India. Darjeeling tea is world known in the world a unique and delicate aroma. There are total 80 plantation which gives work for 50,000 laborers and produce about 10 million kg a year. In the center of Darjeeling, the Chowrastra is situated on the ridge above the Darjeeling town and is lined with shops and restaurants. It is an ideal place to take a relaxed stroll under the watchful gaze of the mighty Kanchanjunga range. Nearby you find the Mall with exquisitively designed wooden shops constructed the Bristish. In and around Darjeeling are interesting sightseeing tours to among others: Himalayan Mountaineering Institute Museum and the Zoological Park, which shelters the most exotic breed of high altitude Himalayan faun. In 1995 for the first  time in India the snowlepard bred in captivity in this zoo. Day 7/8 :The road to Gangtok the capital of Sikkim lies amidst forest of oak, magnolia and birch trees. Enroute we visit Rumtek Monastery. This monastery of Kargyugpa Sect of Buddhism ( Red Hat) is certainly the Largest in Sikkim and is an example of fine Tibetan architecture. In Gangtok you find bustling markets from the local people the Lepchas, Bhutias and Nepalese. The Research Institude of Tibetology is world for it’s research activities on the language and culture of Tibet. The Phurba- Chorten contains a complete set of holy books, mantras religious objects and relics. A visit to Orchid Sanctuary with more than 200 species of orchids amidst beautiful landscape is worldwide. Hotel overnight in  Gangtok.

Day 9: Today we visit Kalimpong. As we cross the bridge over the Teesta River we already can spot this quiet resort town. We visit the main Bazar with the English Macfarlane Memorial Chruch. This picturesque setting makes it the home of arts and crafts and the rich costumes of the Tibetans. Bhutanese, Sikkimes and the Nepalese, who meet in the city square make the market a novel experience. Overnight in a comfortable nostalgic hotel.

Day 10: We cross the border and enter Bhutan “Dragon’s Kingdom”. We arrive in Puntsholing, a commercial and industrial centre as well as the gateway overland to Bhutan. Bhutan is well known for its stamps and the best place to buy them is in Punstsholing where the Philatelic Office of Bhutan has its headquaters.

Day 11: After the breathtaking hairpin bents the road takes us form the low land into tropical road takes us from the low land into tropical rainforests to the Himalayan country. We cross several passes of 2500 m. En route we see the ruins of Chapchha Dzong and Chhukha Dzong. We arrive in Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. We visit the Simtokha Dzong, the oldest fortress of its kind which once guarded the Thimphu valley, built in 1627. It is now a religious university. The National Library holds a vast collection of ancient Buddhist manuscripts. The Tashichhodzong ( Fortress of the Glorious Religion) was built in 1641 and is the main secretarial building houses the Throne Room of the King of Bhutan, the summer residence of the central Monk body and the National Assemble Hall. Depending on time and roadcondition we can drive to Punaka. Punakha Dzong houses many sacred temples and in keeping of tradition, the everyday rituals, including the serving of meals, is carried out as it was during centuries ago. Damaged four times by fire, the Dzong was completely restored under the direction of the present King. The road from Punakha to Thimphu crosses the Dochula Pass ( 3100 m) with Bhutan’s most enchanting views. Within sight if the alpine snows is a magnificent canvas of colours. Day 12: We drive two hours to Paro. The sightseeing begins with a visit to the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong.This Dzong ( Buddhist monastery) is of historical importance from where Bhutan reprelled several invasions by Tibet. On a clear day, the whitedommed peak of sacred Chomolhari( Mountain of Goddess) looms overhead. The Takshang Monastery, meaning Tiger’s nest, built around a cave in which Guru Rinpoche meditated clings seemingly impossible to a cliff of rock at 800 m above the valley floor. For local people it is a place for pilgrimage but for a tourist a hike to the view point opposite the monastery is thrilling and mystical. Overnight Hotel.

Day 13 : ( Note : flightschedule of Druk Air needs to be checked)
The flight into the Himalayas reveals breathtaking views of the great peaks, taking you right into the Dragon Kingdom’s cloud scrapping airstrip at Paro. Day 14: There us still some time to visit the enchanted Durbar Square before transfer to the airport departure flight Europe.

Instead of the flight from Kathmandu to Biratnagar you can travel overland. From Kathmandu we drive to Hetauda and Janakpur to the border of India and arrival in Siliguri, This means an extension of 3 days.
