Day 1: Arrival Delhi, transfer to hotel, briefing program and city tour to two constrasting areas. New Delhi has been designed and built by the British in the nineteentwenties with bride boulevards en governmental buildings. Old Delhi is the old walled markets. Day 2: Drive to Jaipur and along the way you see the characteristically villages of this part in India. We arrive at our hotel in Jaipur. Day 3: Jaipur is also known as “Pink City” because of the pink sandstone from which the walled city and palaces has been built . A must is the palace of Winds, just 3 mtr deep, from where the women of the Maharaja could overlooked the streetlife unseen. A nice example of the Rajput architecture is Fort Amber, where you will be taken by elephant – backside ride According to Hindu Opinion Jaipur was a complexion of heaven and for this you find the observatory( 1728) a curious collection of sculptures but in fact each construction has a specific purpose, such as measuring the positions of star, altitudes or calculating eclipses.We visit also the fairy – Like Regal City Palace,residence of the maharajas and maharanis of Jaipur. Day 4:Early in the morning we leave for Agra. After we check into our hotel you experience the seventh wonder of the world: The Taj Mahal, poem in the marble. Built by Shah Jahan (1630 – 1648)for his most beloved wife, the tombs of Mumtaz Mahal and Shah Jahan are only a small part of the extensive complex with a frontyard and a geometrically garden. Paths leading to the Taj is beautifully reflected. On the other side of the river you look out to the Agra fort, which you also can visit today. Day 5: Traveling by train in India is an exiting experience. Although we will make reservations for an separate compartment, you will surely meet the local people. From your window you see the rural village life,different kind of landscape and the buzzling trainstations. In Jhansi we get out of the train and travel further by bus or car. Late in the afternoon we arrive in Khajuraho, where we enjoy all the comfort of our hotel. Day 6: Full day sightseeing of Khajuraho Khajuraho was , for many centuries a small village in Central India, in 1838 a British Engineer Captain T.S Burt visited the area and rediscovered an extraordinary group of temples built between the tenth and twelth centuries. There is a belief that there were as many as 80 templates built to face the four cardinal directions . The sculptural adornment of the temples has been classified into five types.At Khajuraho the portrayal of the human body is frank and sensous. Several theories have been offered to explain why the artists decorated their temples in this manner. Some felt that the explicit scenes of love making and the rather acrobatic sexual positions were a form of teaching, a way to train people in the art of love as specified in the famous Kama Sutra texts. Overnight in hotel. Day 7: Transfer to airport and flight to Varanasi. Afternoon city sightseeing. Overnight hotel in Varanasi. Day 8: Full day of sightseeing. Varanasi – eternal city is one of the most important pilgrimage cities in India. Situated on the banks of the scared Ganges. Varanassi been a centre of learning and civilization for over 2000 years. It remembers a time of Moghul emperor Aurangzeb. Varanassi is also known as the Hindu renaissance and has a special role in development of Hindu language of India. Along the west banks of Gangas you will find several bathing ghats, where pilgrims make their soul – cleaning dip in the river , and lot of burning-ghats, where bodies are cremated. You can visit decicated to Visveswara Shiva as Lord of Universe- The Golden Temple, Great Mosque of Aurangzeb with its 71m high minarets Durga Temple, Ram Nagar Fort. Overnight in hotel Day 9; Flight to Nepal,Kathmandu The medieval city offers intresting sightseeing-excursions. Also regarded as the historic seat of royalty, the Durbar Square with its old temples and palaces is the center of religious and cultural life of the people. Lying of its vanity the Hanumandhoka Palace is the temple or residence of the Living Goddess “Kumari”.In the surroundings of Kathmandu we visit some special places like, Swayambhunath(monkey temple) is above the city. For Buddhist as well as for the Hindus two religions are melting in eachother. The Bouddhanath in the biggest Buddhist Stupa Nepal and the most beautiful in the world of about 500 years old. Pashpatinath at the holy Bagmati River is the important Hindu Temple renowned for its superb architecture, its golden roof and silver doors. Ofcourse you might also see the snowcapped Himalaya mountains at a far distance for Kathmandu is situated in a fertile valley at an altitude of 1300 mtr. Day 10 : We visit the medival kingsvillages in the valley of Kathmandu In Patan, one can visit the ancient Palace,which consists three main courtyard with in the centre a master piece of stone architecture, the royal bath. In Bhaktapur “ The Golden Gate” is the entrance to the main courtyard of the Palace of 55 windows. It is one of the most beautiful and richly carved specimens of its kind in the entire world. The five stored pagoda temple Nyatapola is built in 1702 and stands on a five terraced platform. On each of the terraces a pair of figures are considered ten times stronger than the ones immediately below. Overnight hotel in Kathmandu. Option: Pokhara The route to Pokhara lead us to an exotic landscape and terraced hillside as we reach the low part of Nepal. We take our lunch near Muglin and arrive in the afternoon in Pokhara for overnight in our hotel, near the romantic lakeside. Day 11/12: Lesiurely is the Keyword, of your stay in Pokhara. You have a splendid view at the peaks of the the Annapurna massive, included in the mountain Machhapuchhre ( Fishtail). You can also visit the Phewa Lake on boat or see it from one the many cosy restaurants at the lakeside. We also recommend a visit to Devis waterfall or a nice hike to Sarangkot. Option: Chitwan Park. From Muglin we drive to further to south to Tadi Bazar and transfer to resort. You will see how the Tharu people live here and may be they will surprise you with the cultural stick dance. Day 11/12: The Jungle Safari offers you different aspects a tour over the Rapti River in a dug – out canoe, the jungle walk where you may see different species of animals not only the rhinos but also deers, monkeys and peacocks, visit the surroundings little villages and/or visit the elephant town, wake up early to see the 400 different kind of birds, sit on an elephant to look for 500 rhinos. Day 13 : Drive back to Kathmandu The emerald green Trisuli River is popular for rafting as we can see from the roadside. We arrive in Kathmandu in the afternoon. Overnight Hotel In Kathmandu. Day 14 : Transfer airport for departure. Note: You can extend your program in Nepal( rafting, trekking, jeepsafari, mountain biking etc) or in combination with other destination in the Himalaya ( India , Ladakh, Bhutan, Sikkim) All combination are possible.
