Siklis Trek
Description
The Siklis trek is short trek in the Annapurna area. This trek leads to an area very less visited by westerners, to one of the largest Gurung villages in the west of Nepal. Siklis village is lying at the foot of Lamjung (its ridge humped like the back of a camel). The views of the Annapurna, Machhapuchhre and Lamjung will remain etched in one's mind during the Siklis Trekking. This fabulous camping trek takes you about a week, starting at Begnas Lake and heading north to the Madi Khola. Then following the rivers west bank up to the well-preserved Siklish, Nepals biggest Gurung village. From here you strike westwards over the thickly forested ridge that separates the Madi and Seti Khola drainages and then descent through Ghachok, another Gurung settlement. If you are looking for exploring an unspoiled region: this trek is off the main trails and we are likely to be warmly welcomed in the villages we pass through.
The Siklis trek can be kept in moderate category. To adjust ourselves to higher altitudes, we will take rest and acclimatize from time to time, to prevent you from facing any difficulties. Anyone with a reasonable level of physical fitness can walk this trek. Nevertheless, it is recommended to train your walking skills before you start this trek: this will help you in walking several hours a day.
